A violin and bow resting on aged sheet music

What to expect

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR LESSONS

Recording lessons is a great way to reinforce learning and make home practice more effective. Students are welcome to bring a recording device for this purpose. Parents are always welcome to observe lessons.

MATERIALS

Beginners primarily study through the Suzuki, Fiddle Time, Stradivari and supplementary materials tailored to their progress. Lessons could also include repertoire students enjoy—including movie and anime music upon request—as well as music theory games and stories about composers. TCL and ABRSM exam syllabi may be incorporated when appropriate.

INSTRUMENT

Students should have a properly sized violin, bow, rosin, and shoulder rest. A well-fitted instrument greatly improves comfort, tone, and progress. We're happy to help students choose an instrument that suits their needs.

ONLINE LESSONS

Online lessons are available via Zoom at the same rate as in-person lessons. A meeting link will be sent approximately 10 minutes before each lesson. For beginners under eight years old or students with less than two years of playing experience, we generally recommend in-person instruction.
