Paula

Violin

Originally from Spain, Paula is a violinist and passionate music educator dedicated to helping students discover the joy of music. She was trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Louisiana State University, where she earned Doctoral of Musical Art in Violin Performance studies with Espen Lilleslåtten, and with a minor in Music Education.

Paula is a certified Suzuki violin teacher with experience working with students of different ages and backgrounds. Before moving to the United States, she taught with Barrios Orquestados in the Canary Islands that uses music education to promote social inclusion in underserved communities.

As an active performer, Paula has collaborated with ensembles including the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, Rapides Symphony Orchestra, Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in music festivals the United States, Spain, and France.

Kai

Violin & Viola

Kai spent over ten years teaching and performing in Hong Kong before relocating to the United States. He has taught students of all ages and levels, helping many earn placements in youth symphonies and achieve success in competitions.

An Associate of Trinity College London in Violin Performance, Kai-Chun is an active violinist/violist who performs regularly with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared in concerts throughout Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan, China, and Hong Kong.

Kai studied at Hong Kong Baptist University, Louisiana State University, and the Mannes School of Music. Alongside his work as a violinist/violist and teacher, he is an active orchestral conductor. He was awarded First Prize at the Los Angeles Conducting Competition and Second Prize at the International Conductors Workshop and Competition.
